Program History
Harcum College women's basketball returned to the hardwood in 2004 after a five-year absence. Since then, the Harcum Lady Bears have achieved back-to-back winning seasons, compiling an overall record of 54-6, and going 45-4 against Region 19 opponents, and have made consecutive trips to the Region 19 Tournament Championship game. They became the first athletic team to win a Region 19 Championship in 2006. Harcum’s women's basketball is quickly becoming known as a formidable power within the mid-Atlantic region.
Second year Head Coach Ty Taylor's up-tempo style combined with relentless defensive pressure produces high scores and plenty of excitement. In order to sustain such success on the court, Harcum has been able to recruit some of the best individual talent from Berks, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties in Pennsylvania as well as Delaware, Northern New Jersey and Upstate New York. The program has produced one NJCAA All-American, two All-Region 19 honorees and one Region 19 Championship Tournament MVP. Graduates of our program have gone on to play at regional NCAA Division II and III institutions and is catching the attention of many Division I programs.
