Harcum recognizes that knowledge is often acquired through means other than formal coursework. Experiences such as employment, volunteer work, in-service training, vocational education, informal self-study, and foreign travel can facilitate learning. If you can demonstrate not just experience, but college-level learning in a portfolio which documents your academic endeavors, you may be eligible for credit toward your degree.
How it Works
Request a portfolio starter packet from your enrollment counselor. Use this packet to start the process, and we will work with you until your portfolio contains all the information that will be useful both at Harcum and in your future career. It will then be evaluated by instructors of the courses in question and by the academic dean for course credit, and credit will be awarded where appropriate.
