Four Join National Alumni Board
BRYN MAWR, PA (September 12, 2006) – Harcum College announces that the following four distinguished alumni have agreed to become members of the Harcum National Alumni Board.
Deborah Defusco Widger (’77) of Philadelphia, Mary Harcum (’81) of Langhorne, PA; Cynthia Canevari (’90) of Milford, DE; and Karen Naylor (’92) of Thornton, PA have all agreed to join the board.
Ms. Defusco Widger is an accomplished retail industry professional. She currently is the president of the “Mimi Maternity” brand of clothing for Motherswork, Inc. She is working on publishing the book, “Famous Faces … Famous Recipes,” to raise money for cancer research.
Ms. Harcum is the grand-niece of Edith Hatcher Harcum, the founder of Harcum College. She is a middle school science teacher in Bucks County and is a qualified pastoral counselor.
Ms. Canevari was the keynote speaker at the 2005 Harcum Alumni Reunion dinner and is a physical therapist assistant at Bebe Medical Center in Delaware. A breast cancer survivor, she spends a good deal of time raising money for cancer research and promoting the importance of early detection.
Ms. Naylor currently teaches in Harcum's successful Dental Hygiene program, and manages the College's on-campus, 16-chair dental clinic. She also works in private dental practice.
