Local Author to Present at Harcum College
BRYN MAWR, PA (November 15, 2006) – Local author Jane K. Stimmler has teamed up with Harcum College to offer a new workshop, Stop Whining and Start Winning: Surefire Ways for Women to Achieve Career Success, which is based on her book Stop Whining and Start Winning: 8 Surefire Ways for Women to Thrive in Business (Penguin USA).
The workshop, which will be offered for the first time on Saturday, December 9th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Harcum College campus in Bryn Mawr, is designed to help women at every stage of their careers, including those entering or re-entering the workforce, become more successful by gaining a better understanding of themselves and the challenges they face in male-dominated business cultures.
"Research and experience have shown that we, as women, face unique issues and challenges in the business world," according to Stimmler, who is a Bryn Mawr resident and CEO of The Marketing Edge, a marketing communications and consulting firm. "Once they understand the roadblocks that can keep them from getting ahead, women can make important strategic changes to be more effective, successful and satisfied in their careers."
Women participating in the workshop will be able to assess their individual styles and gain actionable takeaway information in four key areas: communicating effectively, promoting strengths, presenting a professional image and being politically astute.
The seminar costs $45, which covers the cost of the book and lunch. Members of the Pennsylvania Expanded Function Dental Assistants Association pay $30 per person, and Harcum students and employees can gain entry for only $15. (Note: The $15 price does not include a copy of the book.) For more information or to register, call Kelly Wilson at 610 526 6083. |
