Harcum's Radiologic Technology Program Accredited, Demonstrating Highest Standards
The Radiologic Technology Program at Harcum College has received a full three-year accreditation award from the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). The accreditation is based on a comprehensive evaluation and site visit that occurred in November 2007.
"Harcum's Radiologic Technology programs have received the maximum three-year accreditation period granted by JRCERT," said Julie Taddeo, Professor and Director of the Radiologic Technology program. "The accreditation not only validates the program and its faculty, but offers many benefits for our students and graduates in areas of funding and support from federal and state agencies, professional and educational mobility of program graduates, and employment and career opportunities."
The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology promotes excellence in education and enhances quality and safety of patient care through the accreditation of educational programs. Radiologic Technologists, or radiographers, are integral parts of the health care team. They use their knowledge of anatomy, physiology, positioning and radiation to obtain high quality diagnostic images of the human body. At Harcum, students are trained to be proficient in imaging the human body to assure the correct diagnosis and treatment of the patient. After successful completion of the course in radiography, Harcum graduates are awarded an Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology.
