January 22, 2007– Harcum College (www.harcum.edu) announces that, beginning April 16, 2007, it offer a new part-time certificate program in Residential Design that will enable homeowners and those interested in residential design to learn the basics of decorating and designing rooms.
The six-course evening program is offered for anyone interested in designing or redesigning rooms, or to take individual courses for personal enrichment. Courses included in the program include drawing, color theory, fabrics and finishes, lighting and atmosphere, and furniture and accessories. Other electives include courses on clutter control and organization, Feng Shui, design for small spaces, and painting.
“This new program is perfect for individuals buying their first home, and who want to know the basics of design and decorating, or are interested in design,” says Heidi Techner, Director of the Interior Design Program at Harcum.
The Residential Design Certificate course will be offered through Harcum’s School of Continuing Studies. There is a one-time $72 fee; each class in the certificate course costs $288.
