The English Language Academy provides professional instruction in linguistic skills, intercultural communication and American culture. The Academy is ideal for non-native English speakers who wish to gain skills and communicate with competence in an English-speaking environment, including school or work.
Cultural excursions, guest lecturers and in-class videos supplement classroom instruction. All students on F-1 (student) visas are required to attend class 20 hours each week. Applicants not holding the F-1 visa may register for part-time courses, which range from 3 - 15 hours per week. Please contact the ELA office for the Part-Time Course/Fee Schedule. English Language Academy students may participate in all facets of the college, such as free tutoring in the Academic Enrichment and Advising (AEA) Center, extra-curricular activities and clubs through the Student Services Office, Library services and computer labs. Contact the ELA at (610) 526-6116. Applicants should be high school graduates or at least 17 years of age.
