Bears Set More Records at Widener Meet

BRYN MAWR, PA (April 23, 2007) - The weather was perfect for sprinters on Saturday, April 21 and the Harcum Track and Field team took advantage of the ideal conditions to set more school records in its inaugural year of Track and Field competition.

New school records were set in the men's 400 and 200 by Ron Smith (Pottsgrove High/Pottstown, PA), and a new record in the women's 200 meter was set by PetaGaye Flemmings (Martin Luther King High/Philadelphia), by almost one second.

In the 100 meter women's competition, Flemmings finished with a time of 13:65 seconds, Jessica Fitzgerald (Springfield High/Springfield, PA) ran a 16:22.  In the Women's 200 meter, Flemmings finsihed with a 27:47 and Smith ran a 24:13 in the men's 200.  Smith also had a time of 54:50 in the men's 400-meter.

Bears Set School Records at Army Meet

BRYN MAWR, PA (April 17, 2007) - Ron Smith (Pottsgrove High/Pottstown, PA) and PetaGaye Flemmigs (Martin Luther King High/Philadelphia) set Harcum records for the 100-meter race on Saturday, April 14, as the Harcum College Track and Field Team competed in the Army Prep Invitational at Fort Monmouth, NJ.

Smith finished third in the 100-meter race with a time of 12:1. Flemmings finished third in the women's 100-meter with a time of 12:89. Other finishers in the 100-meter included Andrea Johnson (Parkway Program/Philadelphia) who finished seventh with a time of 16:28 and Jessica Fitzgerald who finished sixth with a time of 15:98.

Smith also finished third in the 200-meter race with a time of 24:6. Flemmings finished third in the women's 200-meter with a time of 30:18.

The team travels to Widener University this Saturday, April 21, for the Widener Invitational.

Bears Compete in Second Track and Field Event

BRYN MAWR, PA (April 9, 2007) - The Harcum Track and Field team was at Richard Stockton College in New Jersey on Saturday, April 7, for the Osprey Invitational. Results from the team's second outing in Track and Field competition are:

100 meter

- Peta-Gaye Flemmings (Martin Luther King High, Phila.) - 10th/13:86

- Jessica Fitzgerald (Springfield High, Springfield, PA) - 21st/16:65

200 meter

Andrea Johnson (Parkway Program, Phila.) - 26th/35:84

The team next travels to the U.S. Military Academy Prep School in Northern New Jersey for an April 14 Army Prep Invitational tournament.

Track and Field Team Sets Records in Initial Meet

BRYN MAWR, PA (April 3, 2007) - The Harcum College Track and Field team set a series of school records last Saturday, March 31, in the first-ever Track and Field event attended by a Harcum team. Andrea Johnson (Parkway Program/Philadelphia) finished 28th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 16.17 seconds. Peta-Gaye Flemmings (Martin Luther King High/Philadelphia) finished 16th in the 200-meter with a time of 28.24, and Jessica Fitzgerald (Springfield High/Springfield) placed 40th in the same event with a time of 35.21. Ron Smith (Pottsgrove High/Pottstown) finished 24th in the men’s 200-meter with a time of 24.4 seconds. The team next competes April 7 in the Osprey Invitational at Richard Stockton College in New Jersey.
