Spend A Smart Summer Close to Home at Harcum
If you’re looking to freshen up your resume or interested in getting a head start on your fall courses look no further than Harcum College, conveniently located on the Main Line suburbs of Philadelphia. This summer, Harcum will offer several opportunities for the young and not-so-young students in multiple disciplines to receive a jump-start on their college education or enhance their resume. Harcum’s quiet, tree-lined campus is easily accessible by car from all parts of the city’s western suburbs. Save gasoline and avoid traffic hassles by using SEPTA’s R5 train to get to Harcum's front door. And Harcum is a ten-minute walk from the Bryn Mawr stop on SEPTA Route 100 trolley. The region's leading two-year, independent college will have three sections of undergraduate offerings to choose from, making learning during the summer flexible and convenient. Undergraduate courses include Anatomy and Physiology, English Composition, Business, Chemistry, Microbiology, Nursing, Psychology and more.
The School of Continuing and Professional studies has offerings for both adults and children. They will be running a series of “schools” for youth with interests in medicine, business, and law. Adult offerings include a selection of foreign language courses open to all students interested in building fluid conversational skills in French, Latin, Japanese, Spanish, Italian or Arabic. For those who need English skills, the English Language Academy of Harcum College offers full and part-time courses in writing, reading, oral communication and grammar, with experienced instructors in English as a Second Language, small classes, field trips to museums, parks, and historic sites and preparation for the TOEFL(Test of English as a Foreign Language).
The 10-week summer session will run from Wednesday, May 14 until Tuesday, July 22. There will be no class Memorial Day, May 26. Summer Session I will run from Wednesday, May 14 until Friday, June 27; no class on Memorial Day, May 26. Summer Session II will run from Tuesday, July 1 until Friday, August 8; no class on Independence Day, July 4.
