Rachel Bowen
Assistant Director of Admissions
Rachel Bowen has been working in the field of Admissions since she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Television and Film Production from DeSales University in Center Valley, PA in 2004.
Rachel likes Harcum because of the intimate learning environment available to its students; “Harcum is small with a lot of hands on instruction,” says Bowen. In her position as an Admissions Counselor, Rachel’s goal is simply: “to do the best job that I can do.”
Some of Rachel’s favorite pastimes include trips to the stadium to see the Phillies play and relaxing spa vacations. A very interesting fact about Rachel is that her great grandmother babysat Elvis Presley!
Rachel will be working with students primarily interested in Dental Hygiene, Dental Assisting with EFDA, Allied Health Science - Dental Track, Medical Lab Technician, Histotechnician, General Studies

Jill Tyburski
Admissions Counselor
A seasoned Admissions professional, Jill has held various enrollment positions at colleges across the Boston, MA area. In 2004, Jill earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, VA, and in 2010 she earned her Masters of Education from Cambridge College in Cambridge, MA in 2010.
“I like that Harcum faculty and staff put the interests of students first,” says Jill. She particularly appreciates Harcum’s small campus atmosphere--“where students have the opportunity to stand out.” Jill hopes to make our application process a positive experience for students; “Attending College is a big step,” she explains, “and I want students to feel comfortable.”
In her free time, Jill enjoys yoga, reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. During her junior year of college, Jill had the exciting opportunity to study abroad in Florence, Italy, and encourages everyone to visit Italy if given the opportunity!
Jill will be assisting students interested in Radiologic Technology, Physical Therapist Assistant (Day and Evening), and Occupational Therapy Assistant, Allied Health Science - PTA, OTA, RT Tracks

Katy Frishmuth '10
Admissions Counselor
A recent Harcum graduate, Katy Frishmuth earned her Associate of Science in Fashion Merchandising in 2009, and came back to complete her Associate of Science in Fashion Design in 2010. Through her involvement with Harcum College C.O.R.E, Katy previously served as a Student Ambassador in Harcum’s Admissions Office from 2008 – 2010, during which time she became a valued and vital member of the Admissions team.
“I like the closeness of Harcum’s community,” Katy explains; ”It is nice to work intimately with pleasant people who are more than willing to help you out." Katy aims to inform prospective students of the Harcum experience through first-person perspective; “I want students to be just as excited to further their education as I was when I started at Harcum in 2007.”
In her free time, Katy enjoys a variety of hobbies including running, hiking, camping, fishing, painting, sewing and cooking. An advocate for travel, Katy recently journeyed through 9 different countries in Europe with a long-time middle school friend.
Katy will be working with prospective students interested in Evening Nursing, Retail (Fashion Merchandising), Fashion Design, Early Childhood Education, and Interior Design.

Beth McMichael
Admissions Counselor
Beth earned her B.S. in Elementary Education from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania and her M.S. in Higher Education Administration and Institutional Research from Drexel University. She got her start in education as a 3rd and 4th grade teacher for the School District of Philadelphia before she began her higher education career in 2002.
“I like that Harcum has a family atmosphere,” says Beth. “Faculty, staff, and students get to know each other because the college is small.” Beth also likes that Harcum gives all students – even those who have struggled academically in the past – a chance to attend college and earn a degree beyond high school.
In her free time, Beth enjoys reading, gardening, baking, watching and rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles, tailgating and attending Penn State football games, and camping with her husband and daughter. A teaching and travel enthusiast, Beth lived and did part of her student teaching in Quito, Ecuador.
Beth will be working with prospective students interested in Allied Health Science, Allied Health Science-Nursing Track, DAY Nursing, Business Administration, International Business, Sports Management, Entrepreneurship, Human Services, Law & Justice, Veterinary Technology, Animal Center Management.
