Minimum Standards for Admission
Students who have been out of high school for more than three years and have not taken the SAT may be asked to take Harcum's Accuplacer before an admissions decision is made. Accuplacer is a placement measure that most Harcum students complete at some point, sometimes before admission to the College. It covers Math, Reading, and English, and helps the College make decisions regarding the proper class level for admitted students, and applicants' ability to benefit from specific programs.
Many majors at Harcum specify additional standards and pre-requisite classes needed for admission to the particular program, as well as the grades with which students should have completed those classes. Please refer to the descriptions of individual programs in this catalog for more information.
Harcum Is First Two-Year College To Offer Online Universal College Application
Harcum is the first two-year college to use the Universal College Application(UCA) developed by Applications Online, which created the original Common App Online in 1998. There are 72 colleges and universities in the U.S. currently using UCA for their applications.
Using the online application allows prospective Harcum students to follow and monitor each step of the application process, save their application, and apply quickly and conveniently. Viewing Harcum’s own customized application supplement allows applicants to choose only Harcum-specific majors and provide personalized information needed for admission.
