Jean Senat, Head Women’s Soccer Coach

Coach Jean Senat is entering his second season as the head coach of the lady Bears.  In his first year of building the women’s program, Coach Senat has led the lady bears to a 9-5 regular season record and region 19 conference quarterfinal appearance.

Coach Jean Senat holds vast experience playing soccer at the varsity level, leading college and club soccer teams, and recruiting and coaching players from Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean and in the United States. 

  

Since 2002, Coach Senat has served has the Assistant men’s soccer coach and assisting the athletic director at his alma mater, Brescia University in Owensboro, KY from 2005 to 2007.  He also served as the assistant coach and head coach at Owensboro United Soccer club and Lady Sting U-16 girls in Owensboro, KY from 2002 to 2007.  Coach Senat was part of the team with the most wins at Brescia University during his years of service.   He helped elevate Brescia men’s soccer team to a power house in the south region. He had helped lead Brescia University men’s soccer team to two straight KIAC conference championships, one year of regional final appearance and two consecutive NAIA top 20 nationally ranked.

 

A business-minded leader, Jean earned his master’s degree in Management from Brescia University in 2007 KY, and his bachelor’s degree in Business & Accounting in 2004. 

  

Coach Senat holds a NSCAA “E” and “D” coaching license. He holds Goal Keeper regional and super regional license. Coach Senat had been a volunteer soccer coach at Akron futbol soccer club in Akron, Pennsylvania 2009, and a YMCA soccer coach volunteer in Claymont, DE 2008.  He has experience refereeing soccer games at many levels including high school and college

 

Outside of coaching commitments, Jean taught language classes to church communities and missionaries traveling to Haiti. “I have been helping people my whole life, especially those who are less fortunate,” Jean explains. “I like to give back by volunteering or donating part of what I have. Coaching soccer is a great way of helping.” 

  

Jean likes the “atmosphere” at Harcum; “It’s a great place to work, and to make a difference in people’s lives... making a difference means so much to me.”

Mindes Dorlean, Assistant Women's Soccer Coach

Mindes Dorlean came to Harcum in January 2010 to work as the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach alongside Head Coach Jean Senat. Originally from Haiti, Mindes has been playing soccer since he was 3-years-old and holds vast counseling and social service experience. A December 2009 graduate of Brescia University in Owensboro, KY, Mindes took the role of assistant coach of his alma mater right after graduation.

 

Before Harcum, Mindes was playing men’s soccer at Brescia University and served as a part-time employee at the Owensboro YMCA, working as a building supervisor, personal trainer and after school counselor. Mindes also spent some time as a juvenile delinquent counselor at the Mary Kendall Home in Owensboro.

 

Having played soccer since early childhood, Mindes made the national team in Haiti at the age of 16. He moved to the United States in 2002 to pursue an education, and ended up playing college-level soccer at a community college in New Jersey as well as his alma mater, Brescia University, where he later transferred.

 

Dedicated to helping others, Mindes has volunteered his services with the Teachable Disability Center in Gainesville, FL, the Owensboro Block Party Community Services, and the National Association of Social Work. Mindes was named Harcum College Coach of the year for the 2010 season. He is also enrolled at Philadelphia University in the Disaster Medicine Management master’s program.

 

Mindes’s main goals at Harcum include helping to develop individual team members—first as people, then as successful soccer players—and starting the Women’s Soccer team on a path to success.

Mario Belong, Assistant Coach

Coach Mario Belong has a lot of experience playing, coaching and refereeing soccer at every level. Playing soccer since childhood, he really started to flourish in high school where he received several all-conference and MVP awards for soccer while attending Sussex Technical high in Georgetown, DE.  After high school, he decided to attend Brescia University in Owensboro, KY.

 

Belong played men’s soccer at Brescia University from 2000 to 2003. He was named best player on the team his freshman year and also received all-conference honors.  Mario has coached club soccer leagues in Kentucky with the United Soccer Club U-13 boys while attending school.  Coach Belong was also a soccer referee for two years in Salisbury, MD under bayside soccer association in Wicomico County.  Belong refereed both high school and middle school games.

 

Coach Belong earned his bachelor's degree in Math and Computer science from Brescia University in 2003. As an assistant Coach Belong says, “I hope to give my players a more in depth understanding about the game of soccer and help them become a better team as a unit and better people individually.”
