Harcum Wins Cape Fear Challange, Improves to 4-0

Wilmington, N.C. (November 17, 2007)--The Harcum College men's basketball team defeated a pair of Division I opponents en route to capturing their second tournament championship in as many weekends.  On Friday night, the Bears slipped past Denmark Tech (SC), 81-79, behind a 30-point performance from guard Brandon Smalls (Charleston, SC/North Charleston HS).  The Bears then defeated the host Cape Fear Community College, 71-66, in Saturday's championship game behind 18 points from guard Melvin Calhoun (Port Chester, NY/Port Chester HS).  Harcum is 4-0 for the first time in the program's history.

The Bears will play their home opener on Tuesday night when they host Wesley College from Dover, Del.  The game will be played at Our Mother of Counsel in Bryn Mawr.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
