February 19, 2011 Harcum finished in 8th place (36 points) at the Dickinson Ducharme Invite in Carlisle, PA. There were 20 teams at the event. Kemmel Wright finished 1st in the 55 Meter Dash (6.56), Tyrone Clayton 4th (6.65), Devaughn Swain 5th (6.68) and Morlai Bangura 7th (6.71). In the relays Harcum placed 4th in the 4x200 (1:37.17). For the first time Harcum holds a national ranking at 8th place.Quentin Walker finished 1st again in the High Jump.
February 10, 2011 Another local meet at Ursinus College with Harcum coming out ahead. Kemmel Wright, Harcum's record holder in sprints, finished first in the 55 Meter Dash (6.67), Morlai Bangura fourth (6.74), Tyrone Clayton fifth (6.82), Devaughn Swain eighth (6.98). In the 200 Meter Kemmel Wright cam out first again (23.07), Morlai Bangura secured another fourth (24.42) and sixth place Tyrone Clayton (24.51). Kemmel Wright finished fifth (53.93) in the 400 Meter Dash. The High Jump belonged to Harcum as well, with Quentin Walker placing first (1.88). Harcum finished fourth overall in the meet, a job well done!
February 4, 2011 The Harcum Bears made great strides again at the Widener University Indoor Meet with Tyrone Clayton finishing first in the 55 Meter (6.72). Devaughn Swain finished third (6.85) and Morlai Bangura finished fourth (6.90). In the 55 Meter Hurdles Shawn Little, Jr. finished second (10.07). Good run for the Bears in a local meet.
January 28 & 29, 2011 Harcum traveled to Bucknell University for a two-day event. The team finished strong with freshman Tyrone Clayton leading the way in the 60 Meter Dash (7.03), placing 2nd overall in his college debut. Sophomore Kemmel Wright placed 6th (7.17) in the 60 Meter and Devaughn Swain finished 17th (7.29). In the 200 Meter Dash Kemmel Wright finished 6th overall (23.66). In the field events Quentin Walker placed 7th in the High Jump (1.79m).
January 17, 2011 Harcum College Indoor Track season opened at Kutztown University. Freshman Devaughn Swain finished 7th overall in the 55 Meter Dash (6.78) and Morlai Bangura finished 9th in the 55 Meter (6.82). This was the first college meet for both athletes and Harcum was the only junior college competitor. Job well done!
LATHAN TAKES 4TH PLACE AT NATIONALS IN 55M HURDLES
Bryn Mawr, Pa. (March 7, 2010)--Harcum College freshmen Harold Lathan and Clinton Johnson competed this past weekend at the NJCAA Division I National Indoor Track and Field Championships in Charleston, Illinois. Lathan took fourth place nationally in the 55m hurdles, while Johnson finished 10th in the 400m. This was Harcum's first season of competition in indoor track and field.
