HARCUM BASKETBALL GAMES POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER

(February 5, 2010)--Harcum College's men's and women's basketball games scheduled for Saturday, February 6th at Mercer County College have been postponed due to the pending winter storm expeted to hit region tonight.  The games have been rescheduled for February 18th, with the women's game tipping off at 5 pm followed by the men's game at 7 pm.

HARCUM MOVES UP TO #14 IN NATION IN NJCAA POLL

Bryn Mawr, Pa. (February 3, 2010)--The Harcum College womem's basketball team moved up one spot to #14 in this week's NJCAA Division II women's basketball poll released today.  The Lady Bears are 21-1 on the season and have a 12-0 record in Region 19 play.  Harcum will visit Mercer County Community College on Saturday at 1 p.m.


HARCUM  LADY BEARS 21-1, RANKED 15TH
Harcum traveled to Burlington Community College for a region 19 game on January 28th.  The Lady Bears got off to a slow start and found they were trailing 30-28 at Halftime.  In the second half the team controlled the tempo and scored 51 points in a thrilling 79-69 win. The Lady Bears were led by Freshman point guard Ana Cruz with a season high of 36 points and Sironda Chambers with 23 points, 14 rebounds, and four assists.  Sophomore Carlotta Mingo contributed 14 rebounds and 5 steals. 
  
Harcum returned home January 30, 2010 to face Essex Community College in another Region 19 competition.   In a game played at a furious pace the Lady Bears dominated from start to finish.  At halftime Harcum had a comfortable 20 point lead. In the second half Essex gave the Lady Bears a scare when they fought their way back to an eight-point deficit.   The team regrouped, stopped the run and quickly got the lead back to 15 points. 
 Point Guard Ana Cruz led the lady Bears with 29 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals.   Freshman standout Sironda Chambers scored 18 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals.  Alisa Roberts also scoring in double figures with 12 points.  Harcum Women are 21-1 overall and are ranked 15th in the nation.
