Under the advisement of the President of Harcum College Dr. DeTemple, the Office of Campus Activities (OCA) is charged with the task of creating a program that will promote civility across the campus.
Stemming from Civility Week, organized by the Office of Student Life, OCA created the series "Accentuate Your Positive." The series is designed to run four times each semester (September - December) and (January - April) with the goal of developing self-confidence, poise and distinquishing character among our students. At the completion of the series, students who have completed all eight workshops will receive an AYP certificate and signature gift. These students will also be recognized at the annual student leadership banquet.
All workshops are organized to increse the student's social skills, technical and vocational skills, with an emphasis on college awareness and career readiness. Stepping away from the normal lecture style classes, AYP will add interaction, role-playing and demonstrations to keep students engaged.
