The Department of Student Life through the Office of Counseling, offers personal counseling to all students enrolled at Harcum College. Individual counseling can help students reach their full emotional and academic potential by supporting students through difficult or challenging times.
Personal Counseling
Counselors are available to meet with students on an individual basis for short term counseling. The sessions are conducted in a private setting. A counselor can help you reach your full potential by helping you explore a variety of issues which might include: increasing self confidence, coping with stress, or overcoming feelings of depression or loneliness. All personal counseling is confidential in accordance with professional and legal guidelines. When appropriate, a referral can be made to an outside therapist or treatment centers. There is a counselor on call 24/7 to handle any issue that may arise after hours. During business hours, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, students are encouraged to stop by the counseling office, Room 200 Klein Hall, to set up an appointment. Or they may call 610-526-6045 to set-up an appointment. Walk-ins are seen time permitting.
All sessions on campus are free of charge and all information is kept confidential.
Academic Counseling
The counseling staff are particularly skilled in helping students assess their academic needs and explore strategies for success in college work. Through individual meetings and small group workshops, students can develop the tools to achieve their academic goals.
