2018 Commencement: Saturday, May 12, 2018

Commencement exercises are held annually in May. Candidates for graduation must complete a graduation application and submit it to the Office of Student Records during the semester preceding the one of expected graduation. Applications for graduation will be available from the student’s advisor or the Office of Student Records.

All graduation applications are due by December 1st.

A student enrolled in a practicum or program which will be completed in June, as the final requirement for the program, may participate in the May graduation ceremony and receive his/her diploma upon completion of the curriculum. All other exceptions must have written approval of the program director and the Vice President of Academic Affairs. All students who complete the requirements for graduation in August or December may participate the following May in the graduation ceremony.

Commencement Ceremony

The commencement ceremony will start promptly at 11:00 am and will be held on The Great Lawn of the Academic Center at Harcum College (rain or shine). Graduates must be in the second floor Academic Center in cap and gown and in line to march by 10:00 am to participate in graduation on Saturday morning.

Graduates, families, and guests are cordially invited to partake of light refreshments at the commencement reception immediately following the ceremony. The reception will be held on the Academic Center Lawn.

Accommodation Statement

Harcum College encourages persons with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities. If you are a graduating student with a disability that requires assistance at commencement, please notify the Office of Disability Services (Dr. Richard Cooper, 610-526-6036 or to make arrangements for the commencement ceremony at least four weeks prior to the ceremony.

Reserved Parking
Handicap parking is available for vehicles with handicap plates or placards. If you do not have a handicap plate or placard, you may drop off a person with limited mobility  before parking in the general parking lot.

Sign Language Interpreters
Sign language interpreters (using American Sign Language) will be available for commencement by request only. Guests who are deaf or hard of hearing and need priority seating must make arrangements for reserved seating. To request a sign language interpreter please contact Dr. Richard Cooper, Coordinator of Disabilities Services at or 610-526-6036. Please make sure all request at least four weeks prior to the ceremony.

Commencement Photos
Lifetouch Photography will take pictures of students as they receive their diplomas. Students will receive their proofs in the mail and will have the option of purchasing graduation photos through Lifetouch Photography.

Diploma Distribution
Diplomas will be mailed to students the week following Commencement provided they have satisfied their academic requirements and financial obligations to the College. Please contact the Office of Students Records, if not received.
