Campus Safety

The department of Campus Safety operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to maintain a safe campus atmosphere for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. In addition to security, the department provides an array of other services, including responding to residential lockouts, faculty and staff building access, and parking enforcement. Escort service is provided upon request for faculty, staff, and students that may need special accommodations.

Campus Safety occupies an office in both residence halls to provide continual supervision and oversight. All officers are full-time and are trained to respond to a variety of different situations. Officers on duty also patrol the campus and check all buildings diligently.

If you experience a loss or damage on campus, such as theft or vandalism, please complete a Statement and submit it immediately to Campus Safety.

The Campus Safety Act—known as the Clery Act—provides students and families with information needed to make informed decisions regarding safety on college campuses. In accordance with federal guidelines, Harcum College publishes annual statistics on crime on campus, and reports these statistics to the federal government.

Contact the Director of Campus Safety at 610-526-6099 for copies of incident or accident reports.

In situations that could pose an immediate threat to the community and individuals, the Campus Safety office will send an email and text message to students, staff, and faculty, and post alerts online here.

To assist our campus community in being prepared for man-made or natural disasters, below are additional links to both PEMA (Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency) and FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) websites. These sites have helpful guides for preparing for emergencies and can assist you in becoming prepared before emergencies occur. While these sites can assist you in being personally prepared, you should follow all Harcum College SMS text and email alerts.
