Harcum College’s Strategic Plan builds on Harcum’s best practices and creates a guide for the present and future. The plan helps Harcum recognize its strengths and confront its challenges, while defining an aspirational future for the College and the resources necessary to achieve its goals, set priorities, focus energy and resources, and strengthen operations.  

Harcum enjoys wide recognition from legislative, educational, and business leaders. At the heart of the College’s achievements is the participation of the Harcum community in the form of dedication, collaboration, and commitment to others.  Input from all of Harcum’s constituencies – students and parents, faculty and staff, alumni, trustees, neighbors, peer institutions, business and educational partners – has helped shape the Strategic Plan. All inclusive staff participation and communication regarding the strategic planning process across the College encourages thoughtful development of new strategic initiatives based on institutional resources, the changing landscape of higher education, and the employment standards for our graduates. The Strategic Plan will continue to offer opportunities for all members of the Harcum community to participate in the implementation of and support for strategic initiatives at the College and promote its role locally, regionally, and in an increasingly interconnected world.  

In keeping with a dynamic strategic planning process, Harcum College’s Strategic Plan 2016-2019 builds on the 2015-2018 iteration by adding new actions and carrying over long-term actions that continue to be important to the College’s strategic initiatives. This 2016-2019 iteration has advanced through proper governance channels by means of review and consensus by the Board of Trustees, the Student Government Association, the President’s Cabinet, the Staff Advisory Council, Faculty Senate, and the Faculty Administration Committee.

We thank all of our constituents for your dedication, collaboration, and commitment and look forward to working together in creating Harcum’s success story. Your contributions are vital to the success of the Strategic Plan.
