Dr. Jon Jay DeTemple has over 30 years of experience in higher education and business management as President of Teikyo Post University, Executive Vice President at SUNY College of Technology at Alfred, Vice President for Finance at Mitchell College, and President of Genoa Art Institute.
Under Dr. DeTemple’s leadership, Harcum has reached a record enrollment of 1,700 students, new academic programs have been developed such as Occupational Therapy Assisting and Accounting, and numerous facilities have been upgraded, most notably the Kevin D. Dr. Susan E. Barrett is responsible for directing an effective and cohesive unit that includes donor development and stewardship, alumni relations, alumni giving, community outreach, business sponsorship, grants and extramural funding, and special events. Ensures a coordinated approach to development across departments, supporting the college’s top strategic priorities.

Before coming to Harcum College in March of 2012, Dr. Patricia Benson was an Associate Vice President of Finance and Administration at Delaware Valley University and a Controller at Salus University. She began her accounting career in public accounting where she became a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Pennsylvania. She serves as a team evaluator for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and is a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).

Rachel Bowen joined Harcum College in 2008 as a member of the Admissions team. She was subsequently promoted to Assistant Director of Admissions, then Director of Admissions, and in 2013 promoted to Executive Director of Enrollment Management. She has proven leadership abilities as well as a successful record of matching prospective students’ educational and career path objectives to the College’s programs and curriculum.

Timothy S. Ely

Before starting in strategic planning and institutional research at Harcum College in 2014, Tim Ely spent ten years as director of online education at Harcum (2002-2012) and two years at Montgomery County Community as director of e-learning.

Julia Ingersoll, Vice President, Academic Affairs & Legal Affairs

Before coming to Harcum College, Julia Ingersoll was Director of the Paralegal Studies program at Peirce College. She joined Harcum in 2003 as Director of the Legal Studies and Criminal Justice programs and went on to serve as Director of Human Resources and Legal Affairs before becoming Vice President of Academic Affairs & Legal Affairs.

Urick Lewis, Dean of Student Life,

Urick Lewis began his higher education career at Harcum College in 2007 as a member of the Residence Life Office where he served in an array of capacities ranging from Residential Coordinator to Director of Residence Life. Currently he serves as the Dean of Student Life where his focus is both on being an advocate for students coupled with increasing student engagement and leadership. In addition to Urick being an avid Philly sports fan, he also enjoys volunteering in a myriad of capacities ranging from philanthropic boards to youth groups.

Gale Martin, Director of Communications & Marketing

Gale Martin joined Harcum College in 2013. She is an experienced and driven marketing executive, serving 10+ years in academic settings, including Elizabethtown College, Alvernia University, and Holy Family University, where she built or strengthened integrated marketing efforts and institutional brands. She has won six awards in the National Advertising Association competition, the Matrix Award for Women in Communications and Silver & Bronze Awards from CASE. She writes contemporary fiction in her spare time.

Evelyn Santana, Executive Director of Partnership Sites

Evelyn Santana is responsible for the development, administration and maintenance of all off-campus degree programs. Oversight of the continued development of current off-site locations, the diversification of programs offered at existing off-site locations and identifying and collaborating with potential new off-site locations for the development of new off-site locations.
Before coming to Harcum College in August of 2015, Evelyn Santana worked in the for-profit sector of education in different Director/Executive level positions for 13 years. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and began her career in Education teaching in parochial elementary schools in Allentown, PA.

Before coming to Harcum College in September of 2009, Claudine Vita was the Director of Human Resources for four years at Staffing Plus in Haverford, PA. Claudine began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP in 1997 as an HR Generalist and was promoted to the PA HR Leader, overseeing all the offices in the state of Pennsylvania. Claudine enjoys volunteering for animal rescues, Make a Wish Foundation, and The Fresh Air Fund in her free time.
