Federal Perkins Loans are awarded to students based on a combination of significant need as demonstrated on the FAFSA form and the availability of funds.
The interest rate for the Perkins Loan is 5%, and no interest or principle payments are due until 9 months after a student graduates (or drops below half-time status). Besides interest, there are no other fees associated with Federal Perkins Loans.
After you start to repay your Perkins Loan, if you skip a payment, make a payment late, or make less than a full payment, you may be assessed a late charge. If you continue not making payments as required, you will have to pay collection costs.
Harcum College uses ECSI, a loan servicing center, to bill, collect payment, and provide loan services to students who have supplemented their tuition with a Perkins Loan.

Perkins Loans FAQs
When is my first payment due?
For Federal Perkins Loans, the grace period ends nine months after a student graduates (or drops below half-time status). This is when your first payment will be due. You will receive billing information from Campus Partners.
When are my payments due?
A repayment schedule for your Perkins Loan will be given to you at the time of your exit interview with the Financial Aid Office. Once repayment begins, after your grace period has ended, billing statements are mailed out by ECSI and the due date will be defined on your statement.
Please make sure to keep your current mailing address on file with ECSI at all times. Even if you do not receive your billing statement, your payment is still due monthly.
