Bryn Mawr, PA - October 26, 2016 - The popular Harcum College Free Lecture Series continues in November 2016 on the theme "The Science of Success." Experts representing a range of areas will offer a variety of strategies toward achieving more success in the professional and personal arenas. The lectures are free of charge and open to the public.
All lectures will be held in the Strauss Family Rotunda of the Charles H. Trout Library on the Bryn Mawr Campus, 750 Montgomery Avenue, Bryn Mawr.
A question-and-answer period and light refreshments will follow each presentation. Pre-registration is requested at harcum.edu/lecture. Tuesday, November 15, 2016, 4 p.m. - "Emotional Intelligence and Why Your E.Q. Matters" -- Heather Uczynski, MA, LP An executive coach and licensed psychologist, Heather Uzcynski will present a program on "Emotional Intelligence and Why Your E.Q. Matters." Emotional intelligence (E.Q. as opposed to I.Q.) is often more important in the workplace than job knowledge or expertise because it has to do with getting along with other people. Those with a high E.Q. have the ability to manage their feelings so they are expressed appropriately and effectively. Uczynski is an expert in the field of emotional intelligence and specializes in the productive resolution of conflict in the workplace.

Tuesday, April 11, 4 p.m. – “Managing Conflict” – Dr. Stephen Treat, DMin, MFT Conflict is for most of us an inevitable part of life, but Dr. Steve Treat says it needs to be managed in order to be at our best, regardless of whether the setting is personal, professional, or educational. Whatever the source or nature of the conflict, Dr. Treat has helped hundreds of individuals and organizations create a more productive and less stressful environment by helping them manage their conflict and learn practical ways to stave off crippling future conflicts. He is CEO Emeritus for the Council for Relationships in Philadelphia.
