English Language Academy
The English Language Academy provides professional instruction in linguistic skills, intercultural communication and American culture. The Academy is ideal for non-native English speakers who wish to gain skills and communicate with competence in an English-speaking environment, including school or work. Full and part-time instruction in English as a second language (ESL) is offered throughout the year. Classes are small and can accommodate all levels of English proficiency from beginner to advanced. Instructors are professional and thoroughly experienced in teaching English as a second language.
Cultural excursions, guest lecturers and in-class videos supplement classroom instruction.
All students on F-1 (student) visas are required to attend class 20 hours each week. Applicants not holding the F-1 visa may register for part-time courses, which range from 3 - 15 hours per week. Advanced level students are encouraged to enroll in credit courses in Harcum College. English Language Academy students may participate in all facets of the college, such as free tutoring in the Academic Enrichment and Advising (AEA) Center, extra-curricular activities and clubs through the Student Services Office, Library services and computer labs.
