Shelby Tibbetts '23 is a student in the Physical Therapist Assistant program who in her first year earned a Certified Brain Injury Specialist certificate.
Kara Kulak '20 uses her Animal Center Management degree to work at the Elmwood Park Zoo.
Jacquilynn Davis '18 wanted to advance her Dental Assisting career, so she enrolled in our EFDA certificate program.
Jasmine Pennington '18 completed the Billing & Coding Certificate and what she thought was going to be an internship became her full-time job.
Tanya Williams graduated in 1989 with a degree in Dental Assisting w/EFDA and returned to earn her Dental Hygiene degree in 1992. She has been employed for 22 years at a Main Line dental practice. She returned to Harcum as an adjunct faculty member in the Dental Hygiene program.
Kiersten Millman '17 graduated with a degree in Business Management and joined the Women's Basketball Team at Harcum as Director of Basketball Operations.
Drew Smyth '17 loves animals and turned her passion for canines into a fun and rewarding career. After graduating with a degree in Animal Center Management, she became the general manager at The Dog House at Spring City. Now she's the proud owner of Miss Drew's Doggy Daycare.
Fashion Design alumna, Arisabel Vasquez '14, created a website to launch her own clothing line called "Slay Everyday."
Tara Focht ’14 Interior Design
Tara received the prestigious President’s Award at Commencement 2014, which recognizes the Harcum student who has done the most to promote the ideals of the College. That spring she also won second place in the Annual ASID (American Society of Interior Design) Pennsylvania East Chapter Student Portfolio Competition in 2014, in competition with students from four-year institutions. Before graduation, Tara was offered a position maintaining the floor plans for the Facilities Department at USLI (United States Liability Insurance Group), an A++ rated company insurance company in Wayne, Pennsylvania, and a member of the Berkshire Hathaway family of companies.
“Since being at USLI, I have assisted in the space planning, finish selection, and construction project management of several projects as part of the company's expansion both at the home office, and other offices throughout the country,” Tara said. “I love the technical side of interior design, so outside of my regular job, I have also tutored Harcum Interior Design students in the computer drafting program AutoCAD.”
Kevon Davis ’08 Sports Management Kevon Davis '08 majored in Sports Management at Harcum and was also a member of the Men’s Basketball Team, competing in Division I of the NJCAA. Upon graduating from Harcum, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Professional Studies from West Chester University, minoring in Sports Management and the Health Sciences. Kevon’s professional success is his testimonial: After he completed his bachelor's degree, he returned to Harcum College in an academic capacity serving in the Business Program and as a Men's Basketball coach for four years. Today he is the Men's Basketball Assistant Coach at California Polytechnic State University, a Division I school in the Big West Conference of the NCAA.
Nisa Brown ’16 Business Management Nisa Brown '16 graduated May 2016 with an associate's degree in Business Management. As a young mother of two children, going back to school was daunting. A first-generation college student, Brown also needed to work full-time while studying, which made completing a degree even more challenging. The obstacles did not deter her and she was even supported by her community. Brown was a recipient of the McDonald's Archways to Opportunity scholarship to further her education at Harcum College and is a Restaurant Manager at McDonald's on Lehigh Avenue in Philadelphia, PA. Devon Ackridge ’10 Fashion Design Devon Acrkidge ’10 has always had artistic talent. His interest in learning about sewing and fashion led him to pursue his degree in Fashion Design from Harcum. After Harcum, he attended Drexel University to complete his undergraduate degree, then obtained a Master’s Degree in Industrial Design from Jefferson University. Devon worked for Adidas in the Wearable Technology Department. Since he is always looking for opportunities to grow, he started his own company called DASH Renovations in 2016. His extensive design background, precision, and attention to detail are yielding beautiful results.
Brielle Pierce '17 Fashion Merchandising Brielle Pierce '17 began her Harcum journey in the Fall of 2015, majoring in Fashion Merchandising. In Fall 2017, she will attend LIM College in New York to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Media. Along with being SGA President, she was part of the Campus Activities Board and helped build Career & Transfer Service’s Career Closet to give Harcum students accessibility to professional attire for interviews. Outside of Harcum, she worked part-time as a Levi Strauss & Co. sales associate and interned at Sabrina Ann’s Once Worn Never Worn Bridal Shop. One day, she hopes to become Editor-in-Chief at Vogue Magazine. She believes Harcum was very influential in allowing her to develop into the person that she is and that she is becoming. "I’ve unlocked the potential, talent, and power that I did not realize was hidden within me. Harcum offered me the resources, the support, and the guidance, it was my job to use them to my fullest ability, which I think I have." She has truly enjoyed the people she's met at Harcum College."Everyone at Harcum fits into such an amazing purple-hearted family."
