HARCUM ROLLS TO SEASON OPENING WIN
Bryn Mawr, Pa. (November 3, 2009)--Antonio Bumpus scored a game-high 21 points to pace a balanced Harcum attack, and Bears rolled to a 120-57 season opening win over visiting Northampton Community College.
All 13 Harcum players got into the scoring column and nine Bears tallied as least 8 points in the contest. Sophomore center Berend Weijs had his best game of his Harcum career, posting 11 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Andre Paulk added 16 points and Jeremiah Bowman chipped in with 15.
The victory marked the program's 100th all-time win since its inception in 2005. It was also a historic game for Northampton, which played its first-ever game as members of the National Junior College Athletic Association.
Harcum returns to action this weekend when the Bears travel to Hagerstown, Maryland for the Food Lion Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Hagerstown Community College. The Bears opening round game is against Prince George's Community College on Saturday at 5 pm.
BEARS RANKED 18TH IN PRESEASON POLL
Bryn Mawr, Pa. (October 26, 2009)--The Harcum College men's basketball team has been ranked #18 in the nation in the NJCAA men's basketball Division I preseason poll released today. The Bears are coming off a 22-10 season in 2008-09 in which they advanced to the District 3 championship game. This will be the program's second season of competetion at the Division I level. Harcum kicks off the 2009-10 season with a home contest on Tuesday, November 3rd against Northampton Community College.

BUMPUS NAMED PRE-SEASON 1ST TEAM ALL-AMERICAN
Bryn Mawr, Pa. (October 30, 2009)--Harcum College sophomore guard Antonio Bumpus (Columbus, Ohio/Eastmoor) has been named a NJCAA Division I preseason 1st team all-Amercican. Bumpus averaged 15.3 point per game during his freshman campaign, earning 1st team all-region and 3rd team all-American honors. To view the complete list of preseason all-Americans, click here.
