HARCUM WINS 20TH GAME AS BEARS DOWN GLOBE
Bryn Mawr, Pa. (February 2, 2012)--Sandy Burgos connected on 5-of-7 three point shots and scored a team-high 20 points to pace Harcum College to a 95-85 victory over visiting Globe Institute of Technology in NJCAA Division I men's basketball action Thursday night at Good Counsel Gymnasium. With the win, the Bears have now won 17 of their past 18 games and stand at 20-3 on the season. Harcum has now had 7 straight 20-win seasons.
Wayne Newsom also had a big night for the Bears, scoring 16 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. Newsom shot 5-of-6 from the field and 6-of-7 from the foul line. Darian Barnes had 17 points and Malachi Leonard 10 points for the Bears. Trailing 75-74 with 10:30 to play, Harcum held Globe to just 10 points for the remainder of the game to score the win.
Harcum will travel to Valhalla, New York on Saturday to take on Westchester Community College at 2pm.
