PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT (PTA) Degree: A.S. As a graduate of the Physical Therapist Assistant degree program, you will utilize the application of physical agents, therapeutic exercise and activities to treat and restore human body functionality. WHY STUDY THIS PROGRAM? This program is convenient to both full-time or part-time students. You can be accepted into the College three times a year. You will have a robust clinical experience that includes four weeks at the end of their first year and two (2) seven week clinicals at the end of their second year. Graduates of the program are then eligible to take the national licensure examination. Students in the PTA day program can graduate in 16 months, while students in the PTA evening program graduate in 2.5 years. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN In your PTA classes, you will learn to provide direct patient care, utilizing physical therapy treatments in a variety of departmental settings under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. Courses include anatomy and physiology, electrophysiology, kinesiology, therapeutic exercise, rehabilitation, pathophysiology, and orthopedics, among other courses.

COST & SCHOLARSHIPS Students accepted into the PTA program for Fall 2024, are eligible to receive the PTA Grant. This grant provides an automatic 30% off full-time tuition and 20% off part-time tuition for the 2024-2025 Academic Year.

Of the graduates who seek employment immediately following graduation, there is a 100% job placement rate. Approximately 70% of these graduates gain employment directly from a facility where they completed a clinical rotation as a student.
